RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SUBMISSION TO THE 2017

VOGHERA FILM FESTIVAL

 

The association Iria Cultura, in collaboration with The Space cinema (Montebello della Battaglia - Pavia) presents the fourth edition of the Voghera Film Festival.

 

Voghera Film Festival intend to promote the knowledge and spreading of the cinema and to be an important meeting point for international cinematographies.

The festival is divided in five categories:

 

  • DOCUMENTARIES

Documentaries of every lenght, genre and in every language are admitted, as long as Italian or English subtitles are provided.

Works in a language different from Italian must be accompanied by an English Dialogue List.

 

  • SHORT MOVIES

Short movies maximum 30 minutes long of any genre and language are admitted, as long as Italian or English subtitles are provided.

Works in a language different from Italian must be accompanied by an English Dialogue List.

Note: a specific session is dedicated to short horror movies.

 

  • SHORT HORROR MOVIES

Short horror movies maximum 30 minutes long of any genre and language are admitted, as long as Italian or English subtitles are provided.

Works in a language different from Italian must be accompanied by an English Dialogue List.

 

  • ANIMATION MOVIES

Animation movies of every lenght, genre and language are admitted, as long as Italian or English subtitles are provided.

Works in a language different from Italian must be accompanied by an English Dialogue List.

 

  • FEATURES FILMS

Feature films of every lenght, genre and language are admitted, as long as Italian or English subtitles are provided.

Works in a language different from Italian must be accompanied by an English Dialogue List.

 

An international jury made up by personalities from the world of culture and cinema will assign the following prizes:

SANDRO BOLCHI PRIZE (for the best direction)

The prize is assignable to all the categories (Documentaries, Short Movies, Short horror movies, Animation movies, Full-lenght movies).

 

  • BEST DOCUMENTARY

 

  • BEST SHORT MOVIE

 

  • BEST SHORT HORROR MOVIE

 

  • BEST ANIMATION MOVIE

 

  • BEST FEATURES FILM

 

  • Works of every genre and recorded on every support, both film or digital, in Italian or in a different language, will be admitted, as long as subtitled in Italian or English. Works in a language different from Italian must be accompanied by an English Dialogue List. Every author can submit more than one work.

In order to submit their works, applicants can:

 

  • fill the form on Festival’s website and send a DVD copy (Pal), accompained by adequate informative documents (see point 8) by/no longer than the 31st of May 2017 (postmark will prove it) at the address: Voghera Film Festival, Biblioteca Comunale, Via Gramsci, 1, Voghera (PV), 27058;
  • use the web platforms indicated on the website www.vogherafilmfestival.com
  • For every single work submitted it is complusory to make a donation by using PayPal (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or, as indicated on the web platforms dedicated, proceed as follows:

 

  • SHORT MOVIES – SHORT HORROR MOVIES – ANIMATION MOVIES

 

From 5/12/2016 to 31/05/2017: 10 Euros for every work submitted.

 

 

  • FULL-LENGHT MOVIES

 

From 5/12/2016 to 28/02/2017: 20 Euros for every work submitted;

from 1/03/2017 to 30/04/2017 : 40 Euros for every work submitted;

from 1/05/2016 to 31/05/2017: 60 Euros for every work submitted.

 

  • DOCUMENTARIES

 

From 5/12/2016 to 28/02/2017: 10 Euros for every work submitted.

from 1/03/2017 to 30/04/2017 : 20 Euros for every work submitted;

from 1/05/2016 to 31/05/2017: 40 Euros for every work submitted.

 

  • You can also submit your film via:  CLICKFORFESTIVAL, FESTHOME, FILMFREEWAY and WITHOUTABOX.

 

  • Submission form must be completed in all of its parts and signed. All of the CDs/DVDs must be labelled with title, name of the director, year and contacts. Moreover, a CD containing these pieces of information must be attached:

 

  • A brief plot
  • Technical information about the movie
  • Director’s biography/ filmography
  • Pictures/ posters of the movie
  • Press kit (if available)

 

  • The jury will select the works admitted amongst the ones received within the previously indicated dates. Their names will be published on the website www.vogherafilmfestival.com. Authors and/ or producers will receive an email if their works are selected. Judges’ decision is unquestionable.

 

  • The association, even undertaking the care and the preservation of the received works, is not responsible of potential thefts, damages or losses of the same, from the time of arrival to the days of the Festival.

 

  • By submitting, senders declare to own the rights of the works, that the contents don’t violate the in force laws and that the same contents are not libelous. In every case, authors relieve the organisation from every possible loss, damage, responsibility, costs and obligations of any kind that can follow the projection of their movies. SIAE matters and the payment for the related rights, in case of music executed by a third party, are competence of the authors.

 

  • Works sent won’t be returned to the authors, and they will be preserved as part of the archive of Voghera Film Festival.

 

  • Authors and/or producers admitted to the final selection, previosuly informed by the members of VFF staff, will have to send a copy of their works to be projected during the event (the adequate format will be communicated by VFF staff also).

 

  • Authors hereby authorize the projections of the submitted movies for educational aims in schools, for cultural events and to promote the Festival. Different uses will be made respecting the in force laws concerning copyright, after the authorization of the owners of the same rights.

 

  • Direction can take decisions about issues not mentioned in this set of rules.

 

  • The admission to the Festival implies the unconditional acceptance of this regulation. If problems related to the treatment of the works received occurr, the competent authority is the Foro of the city of Pavia. In case of objections on the meaning of the points in this list, the Italian version of the same prevails.
